On this occasion, I work with a new technique for me, stop motion. I am looking to change my work with something more representative and important for people, in this case I wanted to work with global warming, and how the population of polar bears is affected, due to the reduction of the osono layer and the lack of food. Few images cause such a chill as that of a polar bear malnourished and impotent in a tiny plate of ice surrounded by water. This is the snapshot that photographer Kerstin Langenberger captured in Svalbard, an archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. Langenberger is a photographer specializing in the Arctic wildlife, but she is also an important scholar with studies in environmental resources. Combining these two facets, the author of the photo decided to hang that image on her Facebook account (which has almost 9,000 followers) and express her concern about climate change. Kerstin Langenberg explains that, although many people travel to glacial areas to be able to photograph beautiful polar bears in full health, the reality is that there are many animals suffering the consequences of global warming and melting.
